Hernando County
Hernando County is the geographical center of Florida and located in the northern end of the Tampa Bay region with easy and quick access via Interstate 75 and the new Suncoast Parkway (only 35 minutes from Tampa International Airport). The location is attractive to distribution/logistics a cost effective alternative - Walmart has one of it's largest distribution centers here employing over 1200. Additionally, the Airport Industrial Park has become a cost effective option for industrial and specialized manufacturing.
Considered one of the “top business locations in the South,’ according to Southern Business and Development Magazine, Hernando County is busy living up to that name. This year, CNN/Money Magazine ranked Hernando County as one of the 25 counties in the U.S. that have experienced the most job growth.
Hernando offers business incentives, retention incentives, expedited permitting and funding for job training. Hernando also has a recently expanded Enterprise Zone, designed to target specific areas for economic revitalization. The expansion will help bring financial incentives to businesses and property owners for investment and generate job creation in the zone. Location is of course everything. Hernando is nestled in the heart of it all on Florida’s fast-growing west coast, 45 miles north of Tampa, 50 miles west of Orlando and 100 miles south of Gainesville.
