Coca-Cola Enterprises and other shared service operations are bubbling throughout Tampa Bay.

Business Services – Dollars and Sense

Coca-Cola, Lockheed Martin, PricewaterhouseCoopers. Name-brand companies in wildly different industries and markets, with at least one thing in common. When tasked to find a location for their corporate shared service operations, they all settled on a logical choice: the communities of Tampa Bay. But long before the establishment of these operations, Tampa Bay had earned the nickname “Wall Street South,” due to the large number and scope of financial services companies in our region. In addition to shared service and financial operations, Tampa Bay has carved out a niche in specialty information processing such as ValPak, Nielsen, Home Shopping Network and Catalina Marketing.

Today, 10% of the Fortune 50 and 9% of the Fortune 500 have a shared services operations in the region.

Their location and expansion decisions have been validated by several other companies, each wanting to take advantage of the steady pipeline of business and financial services graduates from the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa (both AACSB-accredited), a diverse and multi-lingual workforce and the lowest cost of doing business among the nation’s 22 largest metropolitan areas.
